Marquis "Pooh" Dunn

Marquis "Pooh" Dunn, a native of Nashville, grew up on the Westside of the city and attended Pearl-Cohn Comprehensive High School. He excelled in basketball and received numerous accolades and offers, but his dreams of playing in college were shattered when he was expelled from the team due to allegations of drug dealing. Despite being a strong student and consistently making the honor roll, Marquis turned to the streets after his basketball aspirations were crushed. He became involved in drug dealing, gaining a reputation that surpassed his previous fame on the court. Unfortunately, this path led to tragic consequences, including being fatally shot, robbed, and eventually serving a lengthy prison sentence of 13 years and seven months. However, it was during his time in prison that Marquis discovered his talent for writing, starting with poetry and letters, and now working on books that he hopes will become best-sellers and inspire motion pictures in the future.
